Strip silence in Ableton without rendering? Finally.

Tonight's session: you've got a vocal take with dead air. Normally you'd bounce, slice, re-import. The new Ableton Extensions beta (12.4.5) just gave us a strip silence tool that works in-place, no rendering. Also in the roundup: a massive GR-MEGA firmware, some legit rack tricks, and a free drum machine that runs on your iPad.

Glossary
dub delay — Dub delay is a syncopated, short slapback or ping-pong delay on a dry element (like a vocal stab or snare) that hits off the grid—usually 1/8T or dotted 1/8—with feedback down to 0-1 repeats and the mix knob at 15-20%. Use ValhallaDelay (or your DAW’s PingPong) with high cut at 4-6kHz to keep it from muddying the kick. Why it matters: That off-beat repeat instantly gives your track a loose, live warehouse feel without needing reverb tails.
