Founded in New York in 2009 by Anané, the label Nulu takes its name as an acronym for 'Nothing Ultimately Leaves Us.' Anané, a DJ, singer, songwriter, producer, and philanthropist, pioneered the Afro House and Afro Tech sound. Nulu Movement, the party brand of Nulu Music and Nulu Electronic, began as a monthly residency at Le Bain in New York.
