Founded by Miguel Migs in 2004 and based in San Francisco, California, Salted Music began as a personal venture to release forward-thinking, soul-based electronic music not limited in tempo. The label initially focused strictly on 12-inch dancefloor-oriented tracks, releasing its first compilation, Get Salted: Volume One, in September 2005, collected and mixed by Migs. It also serves as a vehicle for releasing material from both upcoming and well-known artists that catch his ear.
