Load any sample into Osc A in Serum 2, set to Sample mode.
Switch Osc A mode to Granular.
Set Scan Rate to 20 % — slows the grain loop speed.
Set Grain Density to 26 grains — max density, watch CPU.
Adjust loop start/end until the texture is smooth and consistent, without abrupt transients.

No Serum 2: Use Ableton’s Grain Delay (stock) after a short sample loop to approximate the granular wash — set Spray and Frequency to taste for a similar smeared texture.

High grain density creates overlapping audio grains that blur into a continuous drone; a slow scan rate lets the loop position evolve subtly, avoiding repetition.
